FALL 12' Trend Alert
Okay so lately I've been reading up on the latest trends for fall 2012 and I came across a few interesting styles that are making their way back in fashion. The strongest trends that were seen on the runways this season from designers...
Trend #1
Pant Suits (Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)!
Pants suits have been in and out of style since the 1960s when they were really popular with women. This fall's pants suits are different from the ones women wore back then . Pictured above are three designers "re-invention" of the new pants suit: at left, a blue pants suit with a fur collar and embroidered decoration from Oscar de la Renta; center, a menswear-inspired brown striped pants suit from Ralph Lauren; at right, a dark blue pants suit featuring gold enhancement on the zip-up jacket by Jason Wu.
Trend #2THEY'RE SAYING THIS RICH COLOR GOES WITH EVERYTHING(I agree)Deep hues that take their names from red wine--burgundy, bordeaux, chianti--as well as the even darker oxblood shade all work equally well for fall 2012, not only for garments but also for fashion accessories. Among the designers who have embraced wine colors for fall are Tommy Hilfiger , Donna Karan , and Rodarte .Trend #3WHITE HUESDesigner Peter Som's white fashion get up, showing a range of white tones, are pictured above . Designers showing appoval of Velvet include Jason Wu, who presented the dark blue pants suit pictured above at left for fall; Ralph Lauren, who showed the three-piece burgundy pants suit pictured above in the center; and the house of Gucci, which showed the green velvet dress shown above at right

Trend #5
EMBELLISHED FASHION
Lace, embroidery, jewels, beads, sequins, and other embellishments all decorate fall garments this season. For fall and winter, fashion accessories with heavy embellishment are around too. Some designers have really pushed this trend to the max with garments so covered with decoration that it's difficult to recognize the fabric that is underneath. A few examples of adorned garments are pictured above: at left, a sparkling gold metallic lace dress from Marchesa; in the center a heavily embellished ensemble by Marc Jacobs; at right a dress with metallic brocade front panel by Jason Wu.
Military-inspired fashion turned up on the fall fashion runways this season, with lots of metallic buttons, double-breasted styles, khaki hues, long coats, and stand-up collars. Some typical looks of the season are pictured above: at left, a double-breasted pea coat from Altuzarra; in center, a khaki dress with double row of buttons from Burberry Prorsum; and at right, a khaki dress by Victoria Beckham.

OVERSIZED FASHION
Pictured above at left, Michael Kors features a loose plaid poncho; in the center is an Oscar de la Renta pink ensemble with plenty of design ease built in, and at right Donna Karan features a baggy jacket and an equally voluminous skirt.
How To Get A Job In The Fashion Industry
Hello F a s h i o n i s t a s !!! Today I was looking through my Glamour Magazine and I found this article that I thought would be very beneficial If your trying Break into the fashion industry.
How to Get a Job In the Fashion Industry
Six fashion-industry superstars tell how they scored their dream gigs—and dish out work advice we all should read.
Stressed? Smile anyway, says Hodge. “Graciousness never hurts.”
The Twitter Commander
Cannon Hodge, 30, social media manager for Bergdorf Goodman
How I got here: I majored in English and got a job as a writer for Neiman Marcus, in Texas. I had a mentor there who told me, “Dallas is not the place for you,” and said I should interview at Bergdorf (which is owned by the same company) in New York City. I started off booking models and designer appearances. After I created our YouTube page in 2007, I was known as the resident geek. I realized how important social media would be.
My plugged-in, 24/7 day: Before I’m even out of bed, I’m checking Twitter. We’re on 13 platforms—Foursquare, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram, and so on—and I manage all of them, posting updates and photos and responding to customer-service questions. At the store I live-tweet or live-pin when a designer comes in, or I see new collections. Social media truly never stops. But I have a rule that when I’m with my friends and family, I keep my phone in my bag so I can give them my attention.
My go-to look: Cigarette pants or a long skirt with a blazer. My mobile “office” is a cross-body bag so I can go hands-free and be on my phone, Instagram-ing.
My advice for breaking in to fashion: Handwrite thank-yous after interviews! (Mail them; don’t send emails.) Be willing to start at the bottom. You’re not going to have a shining moment right away. Stay late and volunteer to do less glamorous projects. The fashion industry is hard work.

Phair manages teams in the U.K., the U.S., and China. “I’m always
on,” she says.
on,” she says.
The Retail Mega-Boss
Stephanie Phair, 34, managing director of fashion discount retailer The Outnet
How I got here: My first fashion job was at a public relations agency, which led to working in communications at Vogue. From there, I went to The Outnet, which gave me great experience with e-tail. It helps in this job that I’m a discount shopper myself—I am our customer. At my interview, when the director happened to ask what I was wearing, I could proudly say that everything I was wearing was from Loehmann’s, a sample sale, or an online discount site!
Nice perks! I get to travel between our offices in London, New York City, and Shanghai, which is exciting and a privilege. But clothes are not a perk—customers get first dibs and staffers have to wait a week before we can order an item.
My advice for breaking in to fashion: There are a lot of nondesigner jobs in fashion: tech jobs, like Web developers, and graphic design jobs. Look at your talents, and there’s probably a fashion job for them.
Worst advice I ever got: When I decided to go to The Outnet, people said, “What are you thinking? A start-up? Online fashion? You’re crazy!” But you wear more hats than you do in an established company, so you learn how to do more. Don’t be scared of a start-up.

To score a fashion gig, “show your unique aesthetic,” say Ochs (left) and Cushnie.
The Designers
Carly Cushnie, 28, and Michelle Ochs, 27, cofounders of Cushnie et Ochs
How we got started: We launched our line right out of design school, with under $100,000! For the first collection, we worked 12-hour days for months. —C.C.
Our advice for breaking in to fashion: Intern! We interned all during school, and it made us pay attention to production, like which fabric mills to use. —M.O.
Unexpected challenges: Everyone—even our parents—told us not to go out on our own right out of school. We started the collection without telling them so we could show we were serious. And because we’re younger than everyone we work with, we’re extra professional: organized, on time, in a pencil skirt and button-down. —M.O.
Our workday: We order fabrics and go to fittings, pricing meetings. Designing is actually a small part of what we do. I sketch on nights and weekends. —C.C.
A misconception: That fashion people don’t eat! Once, we ordered dinner for the staff, and the caterer sent salads. We need steak, potatoes, mac and cheese! —M.O.

Answer to the question Meikle’s always asked: “No, we don’t keep clothes
we borrow!”
we borrow!”
The Fashion Editor
Sarah Meikle, 43, fashion market director at Glamour
How I got here: In middle school I couldn’t wait for Glamour, Vogue, Seventeen to show up in the mail. I got a BFA in photography, then a job in the photo department at Christie’s. From there, an art department job at Glamour, then a fashion assistant job, then promotions to where I am now!
My typical day: I go to designers’ showrooms, take photos, and meet with my team to discuss what trends we’re seeing. Then I create a bulletin board for each story and call in the clothes, shoes, and accessories we like. We work out looks, and the editor-in-chief reviews them all. (That whole process can take two months or more!) Twice a year I have Fashion Week—actually, it’s Fashion Month by the time we’ve seen shows in Milan, London, Paris, and New York.
My go-to look: I wear mostly black, white, and navy, so it’s easy to bring in a pattern or pop of color. As a fashion editor, I look for items that don’t scream a specific season, because people I know will recognize it.
My advice for breaking in to fashion: Intern. Even if it’s not fashion-related, doing something can help you find out what you like and don’t like. And it’s important to know everything that’s happening online, like street-style and shopping blogs.

Dayani, a regular on Bravo, at work
Dayani, a regular on Bravo, at work
The Lawyer
Mandana Dayani, 30, VP and general counsel of Rachel Zoe, Inc.
How I got here: I did real estate law for a corporate firm for two years. I’d always been fashion-obsessed, but I had no idea how to get into fashion! I spent a month getting coffee with friends of friends who worked in the industry, saying, “I just want to know what you do.” Networking led to a connection with Rachel, and a job!
What a business fashion person can do: With all the licensing and partnerships in fashion now, people who can structure deals, negotiate, and execute projects are needed. If you can make the hell out of a spreadsheet, I’ll hire you in minutes.
Her advice for breaking in to fashion: It’s not just who you know. I’ve hired people without connections who love Rachel’s brand and sent résumés on LinkedIn. Include links to your Tumblr, Pinterest, whatever. We hired someone because we fell in love with his personal pages!

Shoe sale ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Today I had no intentions on shopping at all but you know us "shopaholics" , we just can't help it . So I was checking my emails like I do everyday and of course I come across bakers , Aldo's, Macy's , sole struck , and the other shoe stores sending there daily discount opportunities. But I'm use to that so I usually don't pay attention , but a certain email caught my eye this time . I received a email from shoe dazzle saying if I purchased 3 pairs of shoes I would only pay $49.50. YES ! $49 for 3 pairs of shoes, you know I searched for details . I went on the site and realized it was true . I found 3 pairs that stood out to me , so like the hopeless addict I am , I purchased!!!. There's a Fuchsia high heel with a strap at the top that I got for myself and a blue one that is the same that I got for my aunt and a yellow wedge that I got for myself as well. I am so excited for them to come in the mail, the shipping was free and there wasn't any sales tax. WHAT A DEAL...BETTER BELIEVE IT ! Go on www.shoedazzle.com NOW , you can't miss out . Time is running out , stay fly!

Shoe of the day
Shoes- Aldo
Omg so I fell in love with the shoe as soon as I walked into Aldo. I loved how these heels came in nice soft summer colors. There was a off white , pink, lavender *as you can see*, turquoise ,green, peach, and the list goes on . These heels are very comfortable and they come with a suede protector that'll keep dirt from sticking and a outsole grip that'll prevent slipping. But the best part about these is that they are 30% off !!!! I paid $54 dollars for them and if you shop at aldo like I do you'll know thats as good as its going to get for a pair of nice suede heels . I tagged some of the other colors they came in , take a look !

Here's a new trend to try !!!!!!
SNEAKER WEDGES!!!
Okay before you start to say eww . Just give them a chance . OKAY so This new trend "the wedge sneakers" have been making their way into every shoe store this season. They are different of course but they can be very stylish and cool if you wear them in the right way .
Today was the first day I actually stopped and looked at them in bakers . And of course I loved them , I'm always ready to take a chance when it comes to fashion and trying a new trend. One of the sales associates from bakers wore her black sneaker wedges with a fluffy black skirt & a black blazer with silver accessories ( a long silver chain and earrings) . My description isn't all that great but you can kinda picture it . I thought she looked nice . She also said that they were comfortable which is a plus , so just like a regular sneaker , you can pretty much wear them anywhere when dressing casual.
I would wear these with some cute jeans and a nice top or if I wanted to dress it up more I could do a skirt -(depending on the look I'm going for) . But I'm definitely looking forward to getting these , it is a big risk but I'm sure if I wear it the right way it would make a real good fashion statement. I tagged a few pictures of these shoes and even some celebrities who have been seen rocking the wedge sneaker . Check it out !
